Get acquainted with the jargon and abbreviations essential for understanding air conditioning systems.

Split System Air Conditioning

A split air conditioning system comprises two primary units: an indoor unit (evaporator) and an outdoor unit (condenser). These units are linked via refrigerant lines and can cool either a single room or multiple rooms, depending on the setup.

Airflow

Referring to the movement of air within the air conditioning system, airflow encompasses both the rate and direction of air circulation. Proper airflow is crucial for efficient system performance.

Air Purifier

A device designed to enhance indoor air quality by removing airborne contaminants, allergens, and pollutants. Some air conditioners also function as air purifiers, offering dual benefits.

Compressor

Known as the "heart" of the air conditioner, the compressor pressurizes the refrigerant, elevating its temperature and circulating it throughout the system.

Condenser

A key component of an air conditioner situated outdoors, the condenser expels heat from the refrigerant into the external environment.

Evaporator Coil

The indoor coil of an air conditioner that absorbs heat from indoor air, allowing the refrigerant to evaporate and cool the indoor environment.

Filter

An integral part of the air conditioning system, the filter captures dust, debris, and allergens from the passing air. Regular maintenance ensures optimal air quality and system efficiency.

Indoor Unit

The indoor component of an air conditioner, housing elements like the evaporator coil and blower. It's responsible for cooling or heating indoor air and distributing it throughout the space.

Outdoor Unit

The outdoor segment of an air conditioner, containing components such as the compressor and condenser coil. These parts release heat from the refrigerant into the outdoor environment to facilitate the cooling or heating process.
